Cluj: the Hoia-Baciu photographs

At midday on 18 August 1968 Emil Barnea, an ex-army officer, and his friends at the edge of the Hoia-Baciu forest near Cluj watched a large circular metallic object move silently, reverse and climb away, and he took four photographs. The state news agency had the negatives checked and published one; state television interviewed the witnesses. The Securitate reportedly took most of the negatives later.
