The ring discontinuity band and its five lights

Bergrun's Plates 17-22 show a narrow, colourful band cutting straight across all of Saturn's rings, with the Cassini gap filled in where it crosses. In the enlargement (Plate 18) he counts luminous sources marking at least five vehicles working along the band, and reads the whole structure as built on purpose by coordinated agents.
How plausible · Moderate
A NACA, Lockheed and NASA Ames engineer's years-long reading of the Voyager prints; frame line dropouts have been proposed, not demonstrated, and the source frames are not yet traced. Revised 2026-10-23 at Igor's challenge: one JPL caption is weighed as a proposed processing explanation for the prints of Plates 3-6 only. Plates 7-45 are untraced, which means unexamined, not explained.
- ●●Access A qualified aerospace image analyst working from NASA's own Voyager imagery.
- ●●Consistent over time Held the same reading from 1986 on.
- ●●Character record NACA, Lockheed and NASA Ames engineer.
- ●○Cost of speaking Staked his name and professional reputation.
- ●○No gain sought A small self-published book.
- ●○Independent convergence The 1917 crossing and Cassini ring-edge structures are independent threads.
- −Lone source, no corroboration He is the only analyst so far to read the band as built.
Plausibility weighs how well an account fits where secrecy hides the documents by design, so missing records never count against it. Strength measures what is documented. Assessed 2026-10-23.
On the record
- The plates and captions are what Bergrun published in 1986; the reading is his analysis.
- The video shows Plates 17-22 at 37:58-38:53, Plate 17 at 38:53-40:29, Plate 18 at 40:29-41:57, Plate 16 at 36:40-36:57 and Plates 20, 25 and 26 at 43:48-44:37.
- The braided F ring and the spokes are real Voyager discoveries (1980); the braids are now attributed to the shepherd moons Prometheus and Pandora, and the spokes' cause is still debated.Bergrun's ring vehicles in the Voyager plates
