In October 2025 the FBI interviewed a man who often watches aircraft over Colorado Springs. He said that one evening in October 2023, while stargazing with a co-worker, he saw a stationary dark-gray cloud that looked "pixelated or distorted". A solid black equilateral triangle with a diffuse red light at each corner came out of it, heading south-southeast at about helicopter speed. He estimated its altitude at 3,000-5,000 ft and its thickness at 3-5 stories. He said it then accelerated "almost instantaneously to possibly Mach 1 or 2". It banked 90 degrees the "opposite" way to a normal aircraft and showed heat-shimmer-like waves around it. It made no sound. Afterwards the cloud was gone. About 60 seconds later he phoned his wife, who said his voice sounded "robotic". The FBI made a rendering (FBI-UAP-D031). This is a different event from the translucent triangle reported the same month (colorado-springs-translucent-triangle-2023). *Method note: war.gov blocks this server. The rendering file was not described beyond its official description.*
