In January 2026 the FBI interviewed a man, a former Department of War employee per the rendering's description. He said that in October 2023, at about 10:50 PM, he and his wife were sitting on their back porch in Colorado Springs when a triangle passed low over the house from the northeast and moved off to the southwest. He put it possibly as low as 300 ft and about the size of a large SUV. It looked hazy, as if seen through mist or water, with rounded corners and a band of silverish-blue light along its trailing edge. It was completely silent and visible for about four seconds. Just before it vanished, its left side banked up almost vertically without changing course. His wife also saw it and recalled a dark seam around its edge. The FBI made a digital rendering (FBI-UAP-D027) for the PURSUE release. This is a separate event from the "large triangle with red lights" reported in Colorado Springs the same month (colorado-springs-red-light-triangle-2023). The witnesses, times and descriptions differ. *Method note: war.gov blocks this server. The FD-302 PDF was read directly from the original via the ufotransparency.com mirror. Names, dates and some locations are redacted in the original. The rendering file was not described beyond its official description.*
