Two ringed craft in formation over Seymour, Indiana

In December 1953 a 60-year-old druggist and his wife in Seymour, Indiana, watched two objects in tight staggered formation for 3 to 6 minutes. Each was a white cloudy ring with four brilliant, equally spaced lights rotating slowly clockwise. They came down silently with a "controlled downward tilt", hovered with "complete level stability", then made a "seemingly instantaneous surge to maximum speed, keeping formation" to the southwest. The Atterbury AFB reserve office described the couple as "not prone to exaggeration"; they had told few people to avoid ridicule. The report makes no assessment.
