Dr. Robert Sarbacher & the US Government's Secret UFO Crash Retrieval Group

Gerb's case for Robert Sarbacher as Wilbert Smith's 1950 Washington source, followed through Smith's memo and meeting notes, Sarbacher's 1983 letter to William Steinman, Stanton Friedman's 1983 call, Eric Walker's interviews of 1987 and 1990, and the Hottel memo. Most of this is already in the db. New detail: Sarbacher's son says his father built camera-carrying missiles to track UFOs; the Project Twinkle V-2 sighting and MSgt Lloyd Camp's account; and Walker's "windmills" and Kecksburg quotes.

On the record

  • Smith's memo of 21 Nov 1950 and his meeting notes.
  • Sarbacher's letter to Steinman, Nov 1983.
  • The Hottel memo of 22 Mar 1950.

Open questions

  • Where is the full Camp report, and does the Twinkle V-2 sighting match it?

Leads to follow

  • Lead, not a record yet: case/white-sands-v2-camp (Project Twinkle p. 33 and Camp's report).
  • Pointer from document/hottel-memo-1950 to the Wright Field meeting Sarbacher described.
