Thomas Townsend Brown

American physicist and inventor (1905-1985) who reported that high-voltage asymmetric capacitors produce thrust, the Biefeld-Brown effect, and worked on it with Navy and private backing from the 1920s to the 1950s. In air the thrust is explained by ion wind; whether any remains in vacuum is disputed. He is a founding figure in electrogravitics research.
