The Las Vegas backyard beings

- What: a fireball over Las Vegas, then a 911 call about two giant beings in a backyard.
- On the record: the police body-cam flash, the meteor society reports, the 911 audio, and officers saying a colleague also saw something fall.
- The family's account: a crash, a shock wave, a being climbing into a front loader, footsteps on the roof, and men in a government car later.
- Proposed explanation: NASA says the flash was a meteor. That fits the sky, not the yard.
Just before midnight on 30 April 2023, a police body camera in Las Vegas caught a bright flash streaking low across the sky, and the American Meteor Society logged a fireball over three states. About 40 minutes later a family called 911: two figures eight to ten feet tall with big eyes were in their backyard, "100% they're not human". The family say an object crashed with a shock wave, and one being climbed into a front loader in the yard. Officers who arrived took it seriously because one of them had also seen something fall. Police closed the call as unfounded but later set up cameras at the house at the family's request. KLAS sources say several agencies believe something landed or crashed; Nellis and Creech deny involvement.

How plausible · Moderate
A 911 call, a police body-cam flash and a logged fireball are on record; the beings rest on one family's account, though KLAS sources say police believed something came down.

Plausibility weighs how well an account fits where secrecy hides the documents by design, so missing records never count against it. Strength measures what is documented. Assessed 2026-10-23.
