A glow above the lunar horizon after sunset or before sunrise, photographed by Surveyor 6 and 7, sketched by Cernan on Apollo 17, and photographed in colour by Blue Ghost in March 2025 (domes, a 'pillar of light'). The dust explanation was tested by LADEE in 2014, which found too little dust. NASA has not published an explanation for the Blue Ghost images.
