Drones close Europe's airports

On September 22, large drones shut Copenhagen airport for hours; Oslo closed the same night. Danish military airbases and Aalborg airport followed. Munich airport shut twice in early October, and in November drones closed Brussels and Liège airports and appeared over Belgian military bases. Governments spoke of hybrid attacks and planned a European 'drone wall', but no operators were caught. Leaders blamed Russia within days. A year later nobody has named an operator, and in June 2026 the Danish police said they could not even confirm the Copenhagen objects were drones.

- Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen called it the most serious attack on Danish infrastructure so far.
- Danish police, 25 June 2026, closing the case: "We cannot confirm that there has been drone activity... we cannot rule out" it. No suspects.
- Danish Armed Forces, revised report (October 2026): objects over Borris camp on 24, 25 and 28 September 2025, origin unknown; soldiers at one incident may have fired at a passing civil aircraft.
- MEP Fabio De Masi asked the EU Council whether such incidents also reached nuclear facilities in other member states; the Council replied that "it is not for the Council to produce findings concerning incidents."
- Danish Armed Forces released their Borris video on 12 Oct 2026 (to DR, after an access-to-documents request): a single orange light filmed at 20:06 on 28 Sep 2025, just before soldiers fired. Their re-evaluation says the employee who filmed it judged it a propeller plane, and that the shots fell at 20:06-20:08 while a Norwegian airliner passed; the Army still holds that it fired at likely drones. It is the only official video in the 2025 wave.
