Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI)

- On the record: PJ protects Air Force SAPs and lists 'recover' in its mission; FBI 'Guardian Angel' agents are read in; Terry Phillips ran it to 2021.
- The claims: Gerb's sources say PJ enforces legacy secrecy; Doty's Kirtland role shows AFOSI used disinformation.
The Air Force's criminal-investigation and counterintelligence agency, founded in 1948. Its Office of Special Projects (PJ) secures Air Force special access programs and has the stated mission to 'secure, recover, and protect' sensitive technologies, with offices at Palmdale, El Segundo, Wright-Patterson and Kirtland. In UFO history it is the agency of Richard Doty and the 1980 Kirtland disinformation affair. UAP Gerb's sources call PJ the legacy program's enforcement arm, under its former executive director Terry Phillips, now Northrop Grumman's security chief.
