Office of Naval Research (ONR)
The Navy's science and technology funding office, set up in 1946. In 1951 one of its physicists told the press UFOs were balloons or mirages. Christopher Sharp's anonymous sources say undersea craft are now handed to ONR and passed on to contractors, and UAP Gerb's MITRE sources list it among the Navy partners of a reverse-engineering program.
