The UAP Task Force

The Pentagon's UAP Task Force was approved by Deputy Secretary of Defense David Norquist on 4 August 2020 and announced on 14 August, under the Office of Naval Intelligence, with Jay Stratton as its first director. It gathered the reports behind the June 2021 ODNI assessment. Stratton says it began quietly at the direction of the Deputy Director of Naval Intelligence, that he briefed Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, who asked about the economic impact of disclosure, and that the Legacy Program blocked its approved funding.
